JCD in the running
JCD was well represented in the Community Fun Run this year with 29 runners raising almost £8000. Participants included veteran runners Mike Fierstone and 4 year-old Ariella Braun, who was joined this year for the first time by her one year-old brother, Raphael.
Running for the first time for JCD was the Spungin/Isaacs/Bieber family, who raised a whopping £2800, the Klass/Rubenstein family, including new JCD Executive Director, Melanie Klass, who raised £2200 and Joel Sagers, who ran dressed as a Star Wars storm trooper and raised just under £1100.
All the money raised for JCD goes towards projects which support some of the most vulnerable kids in Israel, Eastern Europe and here in the UK.
JCD Executive Director, Melanie Klass, who ran the 5K course in 42 mins., said, "The atmosphere was fantastic, it's one of the best events the community has to offer. I am delighted that so many runners chose to suppport JCD and managed to raise such a fantastic amount of money. Every penny really does count!"
